The Supplementary Note to Circular 1/98 - the main source of
guidance for the preparation of Behaviour Support Plans - is
now on the internet.
As you are aware LEAs must revise and publish their Behaviour
Support Plans by 1 April 2001. The Note will help LEAs through
this process by updating references in Circular 1/98, providing
links to policy colleagues and items that may be useful when
revising Behaviour Support Plans; a checklist of items for inclusion
in Behaviour Support Plans and other good practice examples.
It also contains a summary of the recent NFER research - full
report available at www.dfee.gov.uk/research/query.cfm?cat=5
or from DfEE publication on 0845 602 2260

School Prospectuses and Governors’ Annual Reports
DfEE 0016/2001
|
|
| |
As mentioned in the January Spectrum, we are now seeking views
on proposed changes to the legal requirements for school prospectuses
and governors’ annual reports. The intention is to reduce the
information schools have to include in a new, combined document
which would be sent to all parents. A consultation document
has been sent to all local education authorities; a sample of
headteachers and governing bodies; organisations representing
parents; and other interested parties. We aim to have new regulations
in place by September.
