School Prospectuses and Governors’ Annual Reports                                                    DfEE 0016/2001

As mentioned in the January Spectrum, we are now seeking views on proposed changes to the legal requirements for school prospectuses and governors’ annual reports. The intention is to reduce the information schools have to include in a new, combined document which would be sent to all parents.  A consultation document has been sent to all local education authorities; a sample of headteachers and governing bodies; organisations representing parents; and other interested parties. We aim to have new regulations in place by September.
